ScandiaStore is a family-owned business started with one thought in mind: To share our love of Scandinavian heritage and lifestyle with people of all origins. Our brick & mortar store located in the Downtown Historic District of Rapid City in the Black Hills of South Dakota, gave us a chance to meet and forge wonderful friendships with both our customers and the craftsmen and artists from which our Scandinavian wares came.

Eric Blomfelt, born and raised in Stockholm Sweden, who claims he "can still speak enough Swedish to pass for a landsman" started ScandiaStore in 2005 with his daughter, Lisa and her family. In travels to Scandinavia, Eric established a direct line with exclusive craftsmen and artists, bringing these wonderful wares to the Black Hills of South Dakota and ScandiaStore.

They say "All good things must come to an end." Sadly with Eric's diagnosis of terminal cancer, the family made the decision to close our downtown ScandiaStore for the time being.

Lisa felt it was important not to let the wonderful, exclusive items we found in our travels to go to waste, so in 2007 she opened the shopping area of ScandiaStore.com. In partnership with several craftsmen and artists, Lisa continues to bring the most exclusive of what ScandiaStore has to offer to the world wide web.
